Picture Perfect
This picture is perfect.
It perfectly captures the resting state of our 4 children.
It perfectly captures the 2 dominate moods of our children - crying and satisfied that someone else is crying.
Around here, normal is when one child is either happy or about to become so by making at least one, if not 2 others, not happy.
Don't get me wrong - we have moments, fleeting as the sun around here, of joyfulness that didn't involve taking or grabbing or triumphing over another weaker family member.
But quite often you will find one of these two expressions on the faces of my perfect children.
(I realize this all sounds a bit harsh... maybe its been a tough day, no - parenthood.)

That totally describes my kids as well, especially the oldest ones, during the majority of their waking hours. I am so tired of the fighting! The fighting, and then the crying, and then the revenge, and then more crying, and certainly some tattling. Aaaahhh! I prefer to be left out of it completely, that way it's easier to pretend it's not happening. I love the way you've captured the sibling angst with that picture.
So well written, so maddeningly true.
You win favorite post of the day.
You are a brave soul.
Lets hang out! Call me or email and we can lunch or get cheap manicures. Something without the crazies with us.
That picture is priceless! The look on his face is hilarious. He's like, "Yeah, now you know who's boss!" How did you get it timed so perfectly? LOL
