monsters: friday

on Friday, during nap time, I heard the strangest sounds...
"Can you please pass me the tape."
"Well, sure, but I am not quite done using it, so please give it back when you are done."
"Okay. Those are really good hands you made."
"Thanks."
"Yeah. Do you need the tape now."
"Yes, please."
"Okay, here you go."
"Thank you."

and then later

"Can you tape me up?"

they wanted to scare Rori and Mercer when they woke up. they got one out of 2.

Manito: saturday

manito park is one of the most beautiful parks. not just in spokane, but anywhere. very underrated... so underrated, my mom, lover of beauty and nature, spokane resident for 16 years or so, has NEVER been there. WHAT?

We went looking for porch inspiration on the south hill (my dream location) on Saturday, and then headed to Manito Park to let the kids play. We first went to the Japanese Gardens. Someone has poisoned the koi....

This boy has been trying to do monkey bars for a few years now. I wonder if there is some sub-conscious trepidation owing to one former broken arm, from just such an apparatus.

This boy, made sure that I watched (and took pictures of) him sliding down this turquoise slide, repeatedly, and running and delicately falling down into the sand.

It was such a beautiful afternoon. I love this place. And we got enough inspiration to decide on a porch... But that will have to wait.
